The Golden Crane Competition — European Championship for mobile crane operators is coming to Maxpo 2027!
The previous championship was held alongside the Maxpo exhibition on 29–30 August 2025. The competition was run on two different courses using mobile cranes. The main prize was a week-long trip to the Conexpo exhibition in Las Vegas.
Autonomous Machine Swarm at Maxpo!
At Maxpo, you’ll see how construction site automation is advancing, as the University of Oulu’s SWARM project showcases autonomously operating earthmoving machine swarms using four machines.
Maxpo will demonstrate how an autonomous excavator, dump truck, bulldozer and compactor are controlled individually and together. The exhibition will also feature a limited three-machine swarm demonstration, building a stretch of road using swarm intelligence. Machine demos take place three times each event day, plus one larger swarm demonstration.
Over 20 machines available for test drives!
Now’s your chance to see the machines in action and get behind the controls yourself! Over 20 different earthmoving machines are available for test drives at exhibitor stands, and you can also watch impressive skill demonstrations by top-level test drivers.
